Most people don’t need a dedicated fax machine or fax number - just the occasional need to send a few pages or receive a fax because it’s faster than waiting for a printout to arrive via snail mail. The sands of time should have buried faxes by now, but if you’re involved in anything involving contracts, real estate, medicine, or businesses that haven’t evolved past the 1980s, you probably have to send and receive faxes.
